How to set up ASUS Power Sync with an ASUS NUC and a compatible monitor
ASUS NUC mini-PCs set a new benchmark for performance and versatility in ultracompact form factors. ASUS Power Sync, a feature available with a broad range of ASUS NUCs, synchronizes the power buttons for an ASUS NUC and a connected compatible monitor, allowing both devices to be turned on or off with the press of a single button. This eliminates cable clutter for a more organized, efficient, and visually appealing setup, and it also allows deployment of PC setups in scenarioses where the power button of either the NUC or monitor is not easily accessible.
Real-World Benefits of ASUS Power Sync
ASUS Power Sync offers many key advantages for businesses and home users. Many people find that a tidy PC setup with minimal visible cables helps them stay focused. These users may find it valuable to mount their ASUS NUC to the back of a VESA compatible monitor, but in such an arrangement the power button of the NUC might not be readily accessible. ASUS Power Sync addresses this concern by allowing users to power the ASUS NUC on and off using the power button of the monitor instead.
In other usage scenarioses, such in commercial, educational, or healthcare settings, IT managers may need to deploy a PC and monitor in a context in which either the display or monitor’s power button is not easy to access. The touchscreen monitor for a patient check-in portal at a medical facility, for example, typically should not have its power button accessible to the public. ASUS Power Sync allows staff to power both devices on and off through the power button of the NUC.
ASUS Power Sync can benefit a wide range of users:
.Commercial Use: Power cash registers, POS systems, and digital signage with stable performance and simplified setups for retail.
.IT Managers: Streamline device integration, reduce clutter, and provide employees and staff with a clean, easy-to-use workspace.
.Professionals: Declutter your workspace with efficient cable management.
.Gamers: Create a convenient and powerful home entertainment setup with a display and gaming-focused NUC that power on simultaneously.
.Home Users: Create a tidy, efficient setup where all your devices work seamlessly together in a clutter-free space.
How ASUS Power Sync works
ASUS Power Sync is a feature that allows HDMI-connected devices, like an ASUS NUC, to communicate control signals with your monitor. When connected, you can turn the device on or off simultaneously with the monitor.
The functionality of ASUS Power Sync is customizable through the MyASUS app. One common usage scenario occurs when the ASUS NUC is powered on and connected to the monitor. WHen you turn off the monitor, the connected ASUS NUC will also turn off:

Similarly, when the ASUS NUC is powered off and connected to the monitor, when you turn on the monitor the connected ASUS NUC will power up.
