ASUS Introduces ProArt PA602 Wood Edition Chassis
2024/10/18
Unique wood design and exceptional out-of-box cooling with a full suite of creator-friendly features

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, October 18, 2024 — ASUS today announced the ProArt PA602 Wood Edition, a PC case that bolsters the aesthetics and sustainability of the original creator-focused PA602 chassis with parts constructed of durable and eye-catching wood.
A classic material for contemporary luxury
The ProArt PA602 Wood Edition seamlessly integrates wooden pieces into three locationss. It starts with long handles along the top edge of the chassis, each sturdy enough to hold 30 kg. A second wood piece provides an eye-catching backdrop for the front I/O panel. Finally, long wood pieces are used for the ventilated front panel of the chassis.
The wood used for the ProArt PA602 Wood Edition is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®), so users can trust that it was sourced from responsibly managed forests. Ash is the wood of choice because it offers superior hardness and durability, versus wood such as walnut. After selecting ideal pieces of lumber, the material’s durability is enhanced with a thermowood treatment. Shaping and surface grinding refine each piece to exact specifications, and a two-step coating process highlights the natural appearance of the wood grain and applies a low-sheen finish.
The wood elements of the ProArt PA602 Wood Edition elevate its sophisticated, professional look. With its minimalist design rooted in clean lines and pleasing symmetry, the ProArt PA602 Wood Edition chassis has an aesthetic that is never out of place.

Premier out-of-the-box cooling
The ProArt PA602 Wood Edition chassis gives users the best of both worlds — all-out cooling when they need it, and unobtrusive operation when they’re working on lighter loads.
The cooling prowess starts up front with an open-grille front panel with wide venting slots. Overall, it offers exceptional porosity to ensure an unimpeded flow of cooling air into the chassis. Users will find two pre-installed 200 mm ProArt fans behind this grille. Since these fans are much larger than standard 120 mm or 140 mm case fans, they can move a greater volume of air at similar noise levels, giving users an incredible balance of performance and acoustics. These sturdy, large-bladed spinners are 38 mm thick and have a wide 300-1000 rpm range with PWM control, so they can deliver remarkably high airflow while remaining impressively quiet. When users need them to move copious amounts of air, they will deliver. The fans are rated for airflow of up to 190.2 cfm ― nearly double what typical 200 mm system fans offer. A pre-installed 140 mm fan at the rear of the ProArt PA602 Wood Edition chassis helps exhaust heat, and it can spin down entirely for silent operation as temperatures permit.
Inside the chassis, dual air deflectors help send cooling air where it is needed the most. A lengthy panel along the front edge of motherboard tray gently nudges the airstream over the top edge of the motherboard for reduced turbulence and to ensure great cooling for the CPU and power delivery circuitry. The PSU shroud also features an angled front edge to direct airflow toward the graphics card.
With the ProArt PA602 Wood Edition, there are two choices for the side panel. One version includes a metal side panel that prioritizes cooling efficiency and durability. The second includes sophisticated tempered-glass side panel that puts the inner workings of a PC on display. To supply the GPU with even more cooling air, the tempered-glass side panel features a perforated insert that lets the fans on the graphics card breath more deeply.
Expanding the array of case fans in the ProArt PA602 Wood Edition is easy, thanks to an embedded PWM hub. It supports up to six fans controlled by the motherboard, providing a convenient and efficient way to optimize the cooling performance of a system while simplifying cable management. An easily accessible button on the front I/O panel lets users maximize the airflow of all the fans connected to this controller in one press ― or quickly switch back to Automatic mode.
