Battery cycle life
Due to the chemical properties of lithium-ion batteries, the battery capacity will gradually decline over time, which is a normal phenomenon.
The life cycle of lithium-ion batteries is approximately between 300 and 500 cycles. Under normal usage conditions and ambient temperature (around 25℃), lithium-ion batteries can be estimated to have undergone 300 normal charge and discharge cycles (or approximately one year), after which the battery capacity will drop to 80% of its initial capacity.
The differences in battery life decline are related to system design, model, power-consuming application, and firmware/software power management Settings. In high or low temperature environments, as well as under abnormal operation, the battery life cycle may be shortened in a short period of time, and even a decline loss of 60% or more may occur.
The discharging speed of the battery depends on the power consumption of the keyboard in different situations, such as Settings like turning on the lighting effects and connection modes (Bluetooth / 2.4G wireless/USB wired). If other power-consuming devices (such as USB Hub modules) are connected externally, it will also accelerate battery consumption.
Battery protection mechanism
• Frequent charging of batteries under high voltage will cause them to age prematurely. To extend the lifespan, when the battery is fully charged to 100%, if the power remains within the range of 90% to 100%, the system may suspend charging. This is a protective mechanism.
Note: The set value of the initial battery charge (%) is usually within the range of 90% to 99%, and the actual value may vary by model.
• Batteries charged or stored in high-temperature environments may be permanently damaged and deteriorate at an accelerated rate. When the battery temperature is too high or overheated, the system will limit or even stop charging.
• Even if the device is turned off, the circuit still requires a small amount of power, so the battery will still discharge slowly. This is a normal phenomenon.
Battery aging phenomenon
• Lithium-ion batteries are consumables. Due to continuous chemical reactions, they will naturally deteriorate over time and their capacity will decrease.
• After being used for a period of time, the battery may expand. These issues usually do not affect safety, but the battery should be replaced immediately and properly recycled.
• When replacing the expanded battery, do not discard it in the regular trash can. Please contact your area ASUS customer service processing (http://www.stzgcm.com/support/CallUs).
Standard battery maintenance methods
• If the keyboard is not used for a long time, please charge the battery to 50%, then turn it off and remove the power cord. Recharge it to 50% every three months to avoid over-discharging which may damage the battery.
• If the power cord is used for a long time, it is recommended to discharge the battery to 50% at least once every two weeks to reduce the pressure on the battery caused by long-term high power.
• The optimal storage environment for batteries is between 10°C and 35° C. Keeping the charge at 50% and using battery health management software can extend their lifespan.
• Avoid storing batteries in damp or high-temperature environments. Excessively low temperatures can damage the internal chemical structure of the battery, while high temperatures may cause explosion or fire hazards.
• Do not place the keyboard or battery in an environment with a temperature exceeding 60℃ (such as a stove, fireplace, or direct sunlight).
